Anro Janse van RensburgAnro Janse van Rensburg started his musical career at Monument High where he was the tenor’s sectional leader and accompanist. In 2015 he played percussion in Simfonia Juventi (old Transvaal Youth Orchestra). In the 2016 he was the on-board pianist for Rovos Rail, an international 5-star train based in Pretoria.
Anro is currently studying music at the North-West-University Conservatory with piano as main instrument under the guidance of Prof. Waldo Weyer, a well-known music pedagogue. In 2017 he composed and performed the music to a small cabaret commissioned by the NWU Thalia Toneel, after the event the production team was asked to extend the performance and add more music. He is the founder and current conductor at Hoër Volkskools school choir (Volks’koor). In the year 2018 he was the school of music’s representative at the academic society of the Faculty of Arts, Cuvente (formally known as LetWel). During that time, he was also the chair of Musicum, the student association for the NWU School of Music. His current aim is to complete his BMus degree and continue with a Masters degree in Composition. |
