Christelle EngelbrechtHer love for music, children and choirs knows no boundaries.
She started her choir career at the Primary School Helderkruin Children’s Choir. She expanded her experience in choir singing in the Colla Voce (South Gauteng) Youth Choir where her love for choral singing developed further. Since 2013 Christelle has served as one of Colla Voce’s assistant trainers. Christelle completed her BMus studies at the North-West University with piano as her main instrument under the guidance of Dr. Truida van der Walt, a well-known music pedagogue. She is currently pursuing her MMus Piano Performance degree. She regularly receives master classes by world renowned pianists and pedagogues like Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Nicolas Philips, Mūza Rubackytè, Caroline Oltmans, Robert Auler, Petronel Malan and Joseph Stanford. Christelle participated in the National Atterbury piano competition in 205. She is also a competent accompanist. Amongst others, she regularly accompanies for the South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE), and assists in the training of these choirs. Christelle accompanied the Cantabile ladies choir, and is currently the accompanist of the Laerskool Mooirivier Junior Choir, Hoërskool Volkskool Choir and the NWU Conservatory Choir. Christelle is a member of the Potchefstroom based Molen Korus. In 2013 she passed her Gr. 8 piano examination with distinction and in 2016 the UNISA Gr. 8 Two Piano examination, also with distinction. In 2016 Christelle won the Annette Combrink music bursary for best undergraduate/postgraduate student in any instrument. |
